BT Global Services client story
advanced stakeholder leadership
Education Director, Major Programmes: BT Global Services
BT Global Services, a division of BT Group, delivers a combination of communications and IT services to over 7,000 organisations and governments worldwide. Its customers include over 25% of the global Fortune 500 and it is the largest supplier of networked IT services to the UK government. BT Global Services employs 35,000 people around the world and its total income in 2010/11 was £8.0 billion.
As part of its development programme for Client Delivery Directors (CDDs), BT is using Prendo’s Managing Stakeholders simulation.
The CDDs are responsible for end to end contract delivery to BT’s largest and highest-profile customers. Their ability to build relationships with and manage the array of people across their internal and external organisations has a direct bearing on Global Services’ ability to win new business and enhance customer satisfaction.
Stakeholder Management and Leadership was identified as one of the most important capabilities across the diverse skillset they require. The objective of the programme is to build in each CDD the internal motivation, interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence required to manage the array of strategic relationships and personalities in their stakeholder environments.
